For decades, the Calatrava series, the model of Patek Philippe’s classic round watch, including the general style with dust cover through the cover, has been the most representative work of Patek Philippe. The new Calatrava Ref.5227 incorporates important features of the Calatrava family. The bezel is also recessed, adding a sleek bezel to the elegant dial of the new Ref.5227. Like the case, the bezel design also reflects the classic Bauhaus concept that form follows function. The Ref.5227 watch uses a milky white lacquered dial, the style is extremely simple. Featuring a gold trapezoidal clock and elegant gold polka dot minute ring, the date window is located at 3 o ‘clock and has a polished gold border. The elegant dial is paired with two gold hour and minute hands in the shape of a pointed faceted sword, and a slender second hand with a counterweight. All these elements are protected by a slightly curved sapphire crystal mirror.
